Little Angels Nursery & Primary School is Growth Educational Trust's inaugural partner school. Little Angels was founded by Duncan Musinguzi, a local resident from Lake Bunyonyi, Kabale.
Duncan was once sponsored as a child and decided to give back and help his community by starting Little Angels. Starting out with only a few local children, Duncan has grown Little Angels into a fully functioning primary school with over 300 students.
Growth Educational Trust recognizes the work that Duncan has done for his community and wants to help carry on his great achievement through our Scholarship Programme.
Amasiko Green School is G.E.T'S second Partner school. Amasiko in the local language means Hope! The school is located on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, 40 minutes from Kabale town.
Amasiko Green School and Homestay was founded by Wilfried Van Der Veen. Wilfried has been in Uganda for over 30 years, his original goal was to start a homestay on the peninsula of Hamukaaka on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi. During a meeting with the local community, Wilfried found that the biggest need was to establish a primary school. In 2012 this came to fruition and the school started out with 85 students. The school is run alongside Amasiko Homestay which helps keep the school funded. As of 2019 they have just over 320 students from Nursery Section to the last year of Primary (P7).
Due to Amasiko's location and the surrounding villages economic struggle, very few children get to continue onto Secondary school. We believe what Wilfried has started and his work in the community is incredible. Due to this the Growth Educational Trust wants to play a part in the children and the schools future success. We will support Amasiko yearly by giving out scholarships to the Top students to continue onto Secondary Level Education.
